Table dancing techies

When the techies are happy, you know things are up and running smoothly. And man, were they happy last night. If you happened to have been at that theatre of lost dreams, The Long Table, late last night, you could not have helped but notice.

Tequilas down by the score, dancing on tables, whoops, cheers, top-lifting, (bra-covered) breast-baring stuff, spotlighted by pocket torches.

Perhaps the hardest workers at fest, yet often unacknowledged, techies simply don’t stop working. Even at about 3am, when someone asked a very blurry-eyed Rocco what work they were doing at fest, the very mention of work made her pupils contract asĀ  she flicked out her wrist and consulted here wristwatch…the job is always ticking and it would take more than a score of tequilas to prevent an all-too-briefly off-duty techie from tackling a problem if necessary.

But last night the inevitabley black-clad, leatherman-toting workers who ensure the nuts-and-bolts of festival hold together let their hair down to celebrate the end of the first third of fest. The kinks have been ironed out, the problems trouble-shot and fixed, and ten days lie ahead. Keep those lights on.
