Touch My Blood, which premiered today at the Rhodes Theatre, is a very literal adaption of Fred Khumalo’s novel of the same name.
There’s a lot of narration, presumably lifted verbatim from the novel (I presume--I haven’t managed to read the book yet), and what we see on stage amounts to an illustration of Khumalo’s fascinating and entertaining story of growing up in the township of Hammarsdale outside Durban during the mad and hectic ‘80s. more_link_text
